Completely in line with the Maastunnel in Rotterdam, the Coolsingel in Rotterdam has also been fitted with yellow asphalt.
The Coolsingel boulevard offered too little space for cyclists and pedestrians and was completely redesigned in 2020. The four car lanes have been reduced to two lanes and the available space that became available has been used for the design of a wide bicycle path (two-way traffic) and pedestrian boulevard.
The thousands of cyclists, walkers and motorists, who use the Coolsingel every day, now have a safe and easily accessible boulevard.
