High performance cost effective solutions for highways
Turkish contractor Yüksel İnşaat was awarded for the “Infrastructure of the Third Phase of Riyadh Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Lines within King Abdulaziz Public Transport System” Project, owned by the Arriyadh Development Authority (ADA), Saudi Arabia.
For the red asphalt wearing course application (50mm thickness), Ooms PMB was awarded the contract for the supply of the synthetic clear binder and the pigment. A total of 1064 tons of Sealoflex® Color PG76 and 323 tons of Colorfalt V Red pigment pellets were delivered to the project, sufficient for the production of 21.000 MT of coloured asphalt concrete.
Next to the supply of the synthetic clear binder and the pigment, Ooms PMB supported the client with an extensive mix design research in its central R&D laboratory in the Netherlands. Binder testing (PG Grade), mix design formulation according to Marshall and various performance tests for rutting resistance and cracking resistance / bond strength were part of the program, including advise for the production of the coloured asphalt in the client’s asphalt batching plant and the paving at the job-site.
